Donald Schoenholt Honored by FFS
In recognition of being named one of Tea & Coffee Trade Journal’s 1998 People of the Year, Donald Schoenholt of Gillies Coffee Co. has been presented with an authentic Edwin Gillies Co. coffee can (circa 1910) by Flavor & Fragrance Specialties. Doug Roth, senior account executive at FFS, presented the award to Schoenholt.

Comstock Joins Oregon Chai
Cory Comstock has joined Oregon Chai as senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Cory offers expertise in developing structure in companies enjoying rapid growth,” says Heather Howitt, president, c.e.o., and founder. “He also has invaluable experience with young, energetic brands like Oregon Chai that will lead our sales and marketing strategies as we continue to expand.”

In the newly created role, Comstock will be responsible for managing sales in budgeting, prioritizing, and reporting, while directing marketing in brand positioning, consumer profiling, and media and promotional programs. He will ensure effective cross-collaboration in the planning and launch of new products, and will also be instrumental in forging alliances with key partners and facilitating achievement of the company’s overall financial objectives.

New President and C.E.O. at Nestlé Canada Inc.
Carlos E. Represas, executive vice president of Nestlé S.A., has announced the appointment of Keith Conklin as president and c.e.o., Nestlé Canada Inc. Conklin succeeds Frank Cella who has joined Nestlé S.A.’s general management team as executive vice president responsible for strategic business units and marketing worldwide.

Since joining the company in 1981, Conklin has held progressively senior positions, from managing the Stoufer’s merger to leading and growing the company’s two largest divisions, Nestlé FoodServices and Foods Group. As c.e.o., he will assume executive responsibility for the operations of the company.

Don Marmo has been appointed to the position of vice president, product development, at flavor supplier Virginia Dare, Brooklyn, New York. He will be responsible for the technical efforts of the company’s creative, analytical, and quality laboratories. Also, Paulette Kerner has been appointed to the position of director, marketing communications. She will continue to work in the areas of media, promotion, and trade show participation and will implement additional marketing programs and activities………At Dexter Corp., a worldwide manufacturer of specialty materials, located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, A. Duncan Middleton has been appointed to president, Dexter Nonwoven Materials business. In his expanded role, he will be responsible for Dexter’s largest business, a leading producer of wet formed, spunlace and composite nonwovens for food packaging. Also, David G. Gordon has been appointed to president and c.e.o., Dexter Corp. He will be responsible for the effective management and profitable growth of the Nonwoven and Specialty Polymers business sectors. He will focus on the development of value-based proprietary technology and effective marketing………At Pacific Bag, Inc., Bellevue, Washington, two new regional sales and marketing positions have been created: Glenn Sacco, based outside of Philadelphia, will be supporting the company’s Northeast customers and Chris Hefner will be supporting the company’s Southeast customers. Matt Young, the company’s president, says, “Chris and Glenn represent our continued investment in service and support for our customer. Both will be instrumental in our continued growth in our target markets.”
