The Maté Craze Bottled Up

Getting tired of that green cup of tea? Well, sip into the latest craze, the mate craze. Bombilla & Gourd, a new Argentinean-inspired tea company, is one of the first to bottle maté tea as a ready-to-drink. Known mostly for its different brewing method and nutritional benefits, which according to the company, has 90% more antioxidants than green tea, and provides sustenance with 25 vitamins and minerals and 15 amino acids. Also, with slightly less levels of caffeine content than a cup of java, maté contains theobromine and theophyline, which offers a calm, tamer energy to stimulate the mind and relax the body, without the crash––of course––of coffee consumption, states the company.

S&D Coffee Launches New Sustainable, Rainforest-Selected Coffee

Coffee roaster , S&D Coffee, Inc., launched its newest sustainable coffee. What makes this coffee so special, however, is that it was selected by the Rainforest Alliance, an international non-profit environmental and sustainable development organization.

“S&D’s support of Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee allows us to continue promoting sustainability by serving as good stewards of both the natural and human resources of coffee-growing regions in Latin America,” said S&D Coffee, Inc.’s senior director of product development, Brian Bradley. “By offering sustainable coffee, we provide our customers with an affordable premium product that not only offers a distinctively pleasing taste, but also allows them and the end-users the opportunity to participate in global conservation efforts.

The coffee is a 30% blend of Rainforest Alliance Certified beans from Central America, along with strictly high grown 100% Arabica beans along with the company’s “Premium Gold Line.”

Ro-Boost-o: Introduces the Italian Latte to the Energy Drink Culture

As a leader in the gourmet coffee industry, it is more than ideal for Caffe D’Amore to introduce Ro-Boost-o, which is a new caffeine fortified Italian energy latte. This beverage is free of sugar and contains a caffeine content of 150-mg./1-oz. of mix (over three times more caffeine than any other Caffe D’Amore beverage mix). This definitely breaks the norm of the typical sugar-laden, syrupy energy drinks, offering the energetic caffeine experience with the delicious flavor of a traditional Italian latte.

Ro-Boost-o is easily prepared hot, over ice, or ice blended, and is also available in single service packets, for an on-the-go energy drink made simply by mixing the packet in a standard 12-oz. bottle. “Over the years, energy drinks have become a permanent fixture in our popular culture,” said Paul Comi, president of Caffe D’Amore. “We’re thrilled to be behind an energy drink that doesn’t sacrifice great taste for that “energy boost” consumers are craving, but instead brings the rich flavor of an Italian latte along with it.”

Naturally Sweet!

Granny knows best, is what they always say, and Clayton Christopher (founder of Sweet Leaf Tea) made sure he listened to his. After a road trip from Florida to Texas, Clayton realized that the selection of bottled tea beverages on grocery shelves were not nearly as tasty as the freshly brewed tea in Southern restaurants. Using his grandmother’s recipe, he then joined forces with his best friend and business partner, David Smith, to create Sweet Leaf Tea, an all-natural line of drinks (made with real cane sugar, versus the high fructose corn syrup). Since then they’ve developed a line of ten iced tea flavors: The Original Sweet Tea, Diet Original Sweet Tea, Organic Mint & Honey Green Tea, Diet Mint & Honey Green Tea, Peach Sweet Tea, Diet Peach Sweet Tea, Raspberry Sweet Tea, Lemon Lime Unsweet Tea, Organic Very Berry Hibiscus Tea, and Organic Half & Half Lemonade Tea.
