Bunn Shows Off New Tea Dispensers

The Bunn Tea Concentrate Dispensers, TCD-1 and TCD-2, offer an alternative to brewing fresh tea by dispensing iced tea from concentrate. Most commercially available tea concentrates will work with the TCD, which will accept either a one-gallon (3.8 liter) jug or bag in box product.

This non-electrical dispenser uses a venturi valve to create a siphon to pull product through to the mixing valve. The concentrate is then mixed with water and dispensed over ice at a water-to-concentrate ratio ranging from 5:1 to 15:1. A built-in pressure regulator provides consistent product-to-water ratio and the side offset handles make it easy for side-by-side placement.

The company also claims that the machine is a space saver, as it is only 22.9 inches high, 12.8 inches wide and 18.1 inches deep. A 20-to-90 psi water connection is all that is required to operate this dispenser. No electricity is necessary. The unit also has a solid plastic lid.

La Marzocco Fb/80 Debuts

Espresso Specialists, Inc. has introduced the La Marzocco FB/80 espresso machine line. Based on La Marzocco’s GB/5 line - the espresso machine selected for the World Barista Championship - FB/80 escalates the design element. It suits high-end retail applications with ambitious espresso quality goals.

Like the GB/5, La Marzocco FB/80 can be quickly adjusted to within one-tenth of one degree Fahrenheit of a targeted brewing temperature thanks to Marzocco’s proprietary electronics, including PID (proportional integral derivative) controls. Once programmed, it remains stable to within one degree Fahrenheit in any volume situation.

Built to withstand heavy commercial use, the FB/80 line shares overall solidity of build with its predecessors. It features La Marzocco’s trademark double boiler system with separate tanks for steaming and brewing, providing relentless steam for milk foaming. It comes in two- to four-group configuration in automatic volumetric and semi-automatic modes.

Recognizing its roots, FB/80 is named “FB” for “Fratelli Bambi” (Bambi brothers), the founders of La Marzocco in 1927, and “80” since 2006 is La Marzocco’s 80th year.

La Marzocco FB/80 is exclusively available in the U.S. through Espresso Specialists and its reseller-partners. Espresso Specialists and La Marzocco have shared a close partnership since 1978.
