Coffee Silhouettes Decorate Cappucino
Coopers, a British company, recently invented Coffee Silhouettes - re-usable plastic stencils used for dusting patterns made of cocoa onto the top of cappuccinos. Though initially designed for coffeehouses, six original patterns can be bought for home use.

Coopers customizes silhouettes to match company logos for coffee wholesalers and retailers. Logo silhouettes can be used part of retailers’ everyday service of drinks, or to highlight a company’s new products or special promotions.

A new line of silhouettes has been designed to send as a Christmas greeting card that converts into seasonal beverage decorations. The silhouettes are made from re-usable plastic suitable for food usage, measure approximately 4 2/3’ (12cm) in diameter, can withstand heat up to 257°F (125°C) and can also be used to decorate cakes, plates and other drinks.

It’s a Novelty, Honey
A major tea company asked if the American Honey Company’s dehydrated honey could be put into a spoon. The result was Honey Spoons: individual clear plastic spoonfuls of this natural sweetener, each sealed in a decorative package.

These novel spoons can be used for the hospitality and airline industries and for personal and corporate gift baskets. Honey Spoons are presently on FTD Floral’s web site in their Get Well Baskets and Breakfast Trays.

The American Honey Co. of Nebraska was founded by Don Richards in 1990. The company focuses upon the manufacturing and distribution of honey products. Some of their clients have included Pier 1 Imports, Bloomingdales, QVC and Disney Co.

The American Honey Co. also distributes all natural HoneyStraws, also for sweetening coffee and tea.

Curtis Digital Bulk Tea Brewers
In one touch, Curtis Digital Bulk Tea Brewers precisely monitor brew temperature, volume, dilution level and dwell time for consistent iced tea.

To use the brewer, one must load bulk tea leaves or flow-thru filter packs and press the brew button. Gallons of iced tea are ready in minutes, states the company.

The unit is preset at the factory with the ideal iced-tea brew setting for error-proof set up and operation. It regulates all critical brew functions, including the Drip Concentration Mode, to allow tea to steep before adding the dilution cycle.

There are two Curtis brewers and dispensers that brew and serve up to three gallons: TCTD-35S and PTT-3D. A larger five gallon dispenser is also available.

Curtis Digital Bulk Tea Brewers are constructed of durable stainless steel and feature a smooth, easy-to-clean control panel.

El Eden Truffles Worth the Guilt
El Eden Chocolates introduces handmade, sinfully good truffles in a variety of creative flavors. The artful process behind their taste is evident in the charming irregularities that distinguish them from those of more mechanized chocolate-makers. They have a richness of flavor not found in molded solid chocolates.

El Eden’s Chef Wai Chu creates innovative and delicious flavors. Current truffle flavors are Almond Espresso, Champagne, Hazelnut, Tiramisu, White Cranberry, Pistachio Marzipan, Black & White, Bittersweet Orange, and Black Forest. El Eden is developing and testing new combinations all the time. For instance, for fall they introduced a Pumpkin Praline flavor (available for a limited time), and announced the release of an eggnog flavor for the holiday season.

El Eden truffles are made from such ingredients as fine Belgian chocolate, quality liqueurs, nuts and fruit from select growers and other natural ingredients. “Whether from local farms or European suppliers, I choose the best ingredients to make the finest truffles,” says Chu.

The distinctive taste of El Eden truffles sets it apart from other chocolatiers. In creating their recipes, states the company, they aim to bring out the deep, rich flavor of chocolate while controlling its natural bitterness. They add all-natural flavorings to enhance, but never overpower, the taste of the chocolate.

El Eden truffles are available locally at the retail store in Astoria in New York City, or through mail order. They are gift packaged in a classic white box with the El Eden logo. Personalized gift cards-printed on heavy card stock-are also available at no additional cost. All orders are shipped by priority or express mail or via local courier.
